Autumn Dawn Monteau, an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of Fort Berthold, North Dakota, is of counsel to the Skikos, Crawford, Skikos & Joseph LLP with regard to tribal affairs and opioid litigation.

In 2011, Autumn was appointed by State of New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez to the position of General Counsel to the New Mexico Indian Affairs Department, where she helped form and implement state-tribal government-to-government relations in the areas of tribal sovereignty and jurisdiction; infrastructure development; education; healthcare; behavioral health; economic development; gaming; tourism; water rights and natural resources; cultural resource protection; state regulation; and taxation. Prior to her work for the State, she was an associate attorney at the law firm of Luebben, Johnson & Barnhouse where she provided legal counsel to Indian tribes, tribal businesses, tribal associations and non-tribal clients on a diverse array of Indian law and general civil matters.
